ASSOCIATE SPECIALIST/SPECIALIST (RECRUITING/HR) Job code: 70-00018*


Job Summary:

    Recruits, interviews, selects, and hires candidates for San Antonio and off-site locations following standard processes by developing novel approaches based on the job's unique labor market; build pipelines from multiple recruiting sources to include college campuses, on-line job boards, professional organization websites, social media sites, etc; develop diversity initiatives, training programs and celebration events; interface with division management concerning hiring needs; screen applications, arrange interviews, coordinate travel and advise hiring managers on placement and appropriate compensation of new hires; coordinate with legal office for recruitment responsibilities regarding LCA and PERM case management; ensure compliance with organization policies, state and federal laws and regulations; conduct presentations, training sessions and new hire orientations; demonstrate broad knowledge of technical division's project work and skill sets needed in relations to open positions; attend local and national HR related conferences, symposiums and educational functions; obtain professional certifications as appropriate.

Education/Experience:

    Requires a BS or MS degree in Human Resources or related field with at least a 3.0 GPA and 1-5 years in recruitment, generalist, or diversity experience. PHR certification is desired. Previous experience with diversity recruitment and initiatives is desired; knowledge of employment laws (FLSA, ADAAA, FMLA, ADEA, Title VII, etc.) and effective interviewing practices and methods is required; proficiency using web recruiting sites is required; knowledge of college, internet, and print recruiting functions; knowledge of OFCCP regulations are highly desired; must be familiar with applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office programs; strong presentation skills desired. Must be able to work as part of a team, travel and work overtime as needed. A valid/clear driver’s license is required.
