ANALYST/ENGINEER (SIGNAL PROCESSING) Job code: 11-00590*


Job Summary:

    Design innovative approaches to existing and future signal processing problems; analyze various types of data for patterns of interest; engage in creative thinking individually and with a group to describe past events and predict future behavior of physical systems; write, maintain, deliver and document software tools that aid in data analysis and visualization; write reports of data analysis results to be delivered to the client; interact with clients to determine requirements and to deliver results; work in a team to coordinate efforts and results.

Education/Experience:

    Requires a BS in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or other related disciplines with emphasis on numerical and statistical modeling, data visualization and out-of-classroom initiatives (e.g. internship, lab assistant, etc.) and at least a 3.2 GPA. MS is a plus. BS requires 0-2 years of experience. Must have demonstrated proficiency with Matlab or C# and programming topics such as pointers, data structures, object-oriented design, implementation, testing, and delivery; additional familiarity with LabView or SQL is a plus; must be able to use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators and spectrum analyzers; must have excellent problem-solving skills, be self-motivated and be driven by challenging problems; must be able to translate algorithm concepts into practical analysis and simulation tools, including modifying an algorithm based on real-world data challenges; must be able to work individually and in a team environment; must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; basic knowledge of digital signal processing, to include time domain and time-frequency domain processing is required; basic knowledge of signal conditioning, filtering and A/D converters is a plus. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
