RESEARCH ANALYST/SR. RESEARCH ANALYST (SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT) Job code: 10-00852*


Job Summary:

    Promote and develop advanced decision support solutions for the Intelligent Systems Department in an expanding variety of domains which currently includes traffic management, medical systems, health information exchange, manufacturing processes, and alternative dispute resolution; initiate advanced research and development programs, interact with clients, and make technical presentations; serve both as a software developer and researcher developing new technology areas for the department.

Education/Experience:

    Requires a MS degree or a PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or other Engineering major with a computer science emphasis focused on data science and analysis to include data mining, business intelligence, predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, and/or machine learning. If MS candidate, then a thesis is strongly desired to a non-thesis option. Must have at least a 3.4 GPA with 2-10 years experience in software development and research developing new technology areas; must have experience in software and systems development using languages such as Java, Python, C/C++, Scala, and Javascript/HTML5; must have experience in data structure design and development with database engines such as Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL using both SQL and NoSQL database systems; must have experience with data analysis tools such as R, SAS, Rapid Miner, and Map Reduce; must have experience with parallel programming (e.g. OpenMP, MPI) and GPU programming (OpenCL, CUDA); must have excellent interpersonal skills and able to work well individually or as a member of a project team; must have PC development skills; must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. A valid/clear driver's license is required.
