Southwest Research Institute has a long history of supporting veterans and reservists. Our Veterans Recruiting Plan enhances our efforts to hire and retain veterans as SwRI employees. Veterans of the US military are well educated and trained individuals who are proven leaders, are mission focused, have a strong work ethic, and are team players.
The Employment Operations Section of the Human Resources Department has appointed a recruiter to take the lead in veteran recruiting efforts. Generally, the Institute’s goal is to attend one Veteran’s Recruiting activity each month. Some of our on-going efforts include:
- Being an active supporter of the Employers Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR)
- Maintaining a close working relationship with the Texas Veterans Commission employment counselors and list job openings with their service
- Hosting an annual Veterans’ Day Celebration in honor of employees who have served in the US Military
- Participating in the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) at area military bases
