SwRI: Vehicle Research and Development, Applied Statistics
Using regression techniques, SwRI developed a series of complex models to predict automobile emissions based on the properties of reformulated gasolines.
The petroleum industry uses these models (top) to produce gasolines that comply with the Clean Air Act. Carefully planned experimental designs and sophisticated data analysis techniques are used at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) for testing and evaluating vehicle components and systems.
