CEC L-85-T-99 Test Parameters

A small quantity of oil is weighed into a sample pan and placed in a test cell. The cell is heated to a specified temperature and pressurized with air. The cell is held at a regulated temperature and pressure until an exothermic reaction occurs. The extra-polated onset time is measured and reported as the oxidation induction time.

Pass/Fail Criteria

E4-08 and E6-08 E7-08 and E9-08
R & R

≥65 minutes

Pass limits for oxidation induction time are ≥35 minutes.
