A series of
technology studies was developed by engineers at Southwest Research Institute
(SwRI) for the National Communications System (NCS), an office that
assists the President of the United States and the Executive Office of the
President in the execution of their national security/emergency preparedness
communications functions. The NCS
technology studies resulted in Technical Information Bulletins (TIBs) that
address the following communications related topics. These TIBs can be accessed
on the NCS web site.
-
The Convergence of Signaling System 7 and Voice-over-IP,
NCS TIB 00-8, September 2000
-
Advancements in Photonic Network Architecture Migration:
The Evolution and Deployment of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS),
Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS) and Advanced Optical
Switching, NCS TIB 02-4, May 2002
-
Photonic Network Architecture: Next Generation Internet
Applications, NCS TIB 01-2, July 2001
-
Relationships of Popular Transmission Characteristics to
Perceived Quality for Digital Video Over ATM,
NCS TIB 99-2, January 1999
