SwRI Gas Blowdown Testing: Flow Component Testing Facilities offers gas blowdown testing, safety valve testing and custom product evaluation services.

The Flow Component Testing Facilities (FCTF) have a high-flow gas blowdown facility that can be used for a variety of tests. The FCTF gas test facility utilizes compressed nitrogen gas to perform tests including:

  • Gas blowdown

  • ANSI/ISA S75.02 – Cv determination for gas flow

  • API 11V2 – gas lift testing

  • Noise and vibration testing

Specific capabilities of the facility include:

  • Operating pressures up to 3,000 psig

  • Flow rates up to 230 MMSCFD (million standard cubic feet/day)

  • Differential pressures over 2,000 psi

  • Gas source volume: 1,125 ft3

  • All instrumentation calibrated at regular intervals
