Geological services at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) cross a broad range of geoscience disciplines, including:

Because of our extensive geology expertise, we are able to serve the interests of the oil and gas, water resource management, and construction industries.

In addition, SwRI's geological services support risk assessments of natural hazards including:

  • Volcanism

  • Earthquakes

  • Faulting

  • Floods

  • Tsunami

  • Erosion

  • Landslides

Field studies, state-of-the-art physical modeling, numerical modeling, including computational fluid dynamics modeling, and visualization facilities support these activities. Advanced remote sensing and geographic information system capabilities are the backbone of our many process-oriented projects. Close cooperation with our hydrology and geotechnical personnel results in integrated work products that meet a wide range of client needs.
