3DStress uses a patented stress inversion technique to estimate stress states from fault orientations and displacement using slip tendency analysis. Fault displacement can be defined as measured slip, throw, fault area, seismic magnitude, or seismic semblance. The animation shows stress states inverted from microseismic data collected during a hydraulic fracturing completion, and illustrates how stress states vary with time and location through the completion sequence. Output includes estimates of confidence in the results and ranges of acceptable stress tensors.
