| Jet Fuel Fingerprinting by GC/MS |
 |
| A GC/MS method has been developed by SwRI to characterize the jet fuels. Up to 110 different chemical types will be identified and quantified which include saturated and branched alkanes (paraffin's), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH, such as naphthalene, phenanthrene, etc.), alkyl cyclohexanes, alkyl benzenes, tetralines, alkyl tetralines, and alkyl PAHs (methyl naphthalenes, dimethyl naphthalenes, methyl phenanthrenes, etc.). |
