Cold Room Chamber Testing - Div. 18
Environmnetal Test Group (Mechanical Sciences Section of Div.18) has 6 "cold room chambers" --four are approximately 3' x 3' x 3' in size (can produce a low temperature down to -65 degrees C); two are approximatley 10' x 13' x 8' (can produce a low temperature down to -40 degrees C); all have ports for running control lines, power lines, etc. between the inside and outside of the chamber. All have separate monitoring systems to shutdown the chamber cooling if thermal runaway occurs. All have ethernet connections nearby so that test items can be monitored by our clients over a separate network that is connected to the internet. All are monitored by SwRI engineers remotely.
