Medical Components Wear
A recent project measured hip joint wear on a 6-station Shore Western Hip Joint Simulator, using radioactive tracer technology. This project involved nuclear implantation of standard and x-linked high molecular weight polyethylene acetabular cups to evaluate the absolute and relative wear of these materials. Pin on disc (metal on metal) wear measurements were also accomplished using radioactive tracer techniques.
