Pratt & Whitney Fellowship Opportunity

East Hartford, CT

Aero/Heat Transfer Discipline

The candidate will work in the turbine durability discipline which is responsible for the cooling designs of advanced, film cooled gas turbine airfoils and performs heat transfer, fluid flow, structural, and optimization analyses. An interest in heat transfer and numerical analyses is required as the candidate will work on validating state-of-the-art CFD analyses with engine data. The results of these analyses will be used to support design of next generation engines.

Combustion Discipline

The candidate should have an interest and preferably background in combustion science and technology. For this internship, the candidate will be involved in the aero-thermal design, test, and analysis of advanced low emissions industrial combustion systems for power generation and mechanical drive markets.
