Aftertreatment System Technologies

The automotive aftertreatment system reduces emissions of carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen (NOX) and other smog-forming pollutants found in automotive exhaust. Southwest Research Institute is a pioneer in research and testing of aftertreatment system technologies that help the automotive industry meet and exceed emissions and fuel efficiency standards.

Emissions Analysis from Combustion to Tailpipe

Emissions of carbon monoxide (CO), oxides of nitrogen (NOX), unburnt hydrocarbons and particulate matter are controlled in either the automotive combustion system or the aftertreatment system. SwRI develops analytical solutions for individual catalyst components, full-size exhaust aftertreatment systems, and related emissions control technologies.

Catalyst Aftertreatment Solutions

Our catalyst aftertreatment solutions include analysis of diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), diesel particulate filter (DPF), selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems and ammonia slip catalysts (ASC).
