Typical Lubrication Network

Both internally developed and commercially available software programs are used by engine design engineers at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) to analyze fluid circuits including:

  • Coolant flow in castings
  • Lubrication networks
  • Hydraulic Systems

Benefits of Fluid Flow System Analyses

Some of the benefits of fluid flow analyses are:

  • Minimize parasitic losses within fluid passages
  • Ensure balance of pump to load
  • Ensure appropriate distribution of fluid flow and pressure throughout the network
  • Support the design of fuel, lubricant, and coolant systems
