Free Webinar: Dry Gas Seals: Why They Fail and How to Reduce Failures

Join us Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. (U.S. Central Time)

Hosts: Aaron Rimpel and Hector Delgado

Dry gas seal failures are the most common cause for forced outages on centrifugal compressors. When dry gas seals fail, it is usually due to liquid contamination or solid ingestion. Very often dry gas seals and their supply systems are not properly engineered or operated for their application, process gas composition, and operating conditions. This webinar will discuss the basics of dry gas seals as well as what operators should know about the following topics to reduce the likelihood of failure:

  • Common failure modes
  • Liquid phase analysis and hydrate formation
  • System incremental pressure drop
  • Separation seals
  • Particulate filtration effectiveness
