Oil & Gas Machinery Lecture Series: Role of the Oil & Gas Industry in the Hydrogen Economy

Mar 29, 2022
San Antonio, TX, United States
Go to Oil & Gas Lecture Series: U.S. Energy Assurance: Digitalization

Lecture Series Overview

As the world moves toward decarbonization, the hydrogen economy will become of significant economic, political, and academic interest.  To meet the production, transportation, storage, and usage needs for this new economy, significant infrastructure changes will be required.  This includes machinery such as compressors, turbines, pumps and heat engines such as gas turbines and piston engines that are very different from the types currently installed on pipelines, trucks, barges, and in power plants.  For hydrogen to be a viable energy carrier in the future economy, the machinery and power cycles must operate efficiently, reliably and, most importantly, must be economically viable.  The oil and gas industry is positioned to play a central role in decarbonizing our economy.  This lecture series will focus on machinery and pipeline aspects in the production, transport, and utilizing of hydrogen including high hydrogen/natural gas mixtures.

Presenters during this one-day event will include oil and gas operators, equipment manufacturers, and government agencies
