The course will prepare attendees to better manage organizations in the service sector, which represent the fastest-growing sector of the economy. We will study service operations management from an integrated viewpoint with a focus on customer satisfaction. The material will integrate operations, marketing, strategy, information technology, and organizational issues. Outstanding service organizations are managed differently than their "merely good" competitors.
The topics are organized around three modules:
- Understanding Services,
- Designing the Service Enterprise, and
- Managing Service Operations.
This course is offered by the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC), a program of Southwest Research Institute.
