Southwest Research Institute^® (SwRI^®) is an independent, nonprofit applied research and development organization headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. SwRI develops advanced sensor systems and nondestructive evaluation (NDE) technologies to address challenging inspections across multiple industries. Recent developments include high-resolution corrosion mapping of storage tank bottoms and pipe supports using magnetostrictive guided wave arrays, Full Matrix Capture (FMC), and Total Focusing Method (TFM) imaging. Additional capabilities include remote field eddy current inspection of non-piggable small-diameter pipes, multi-channel automated ultrasonic testing for thick-wall components, inspection qualification, and quantitative assessment of NDE system performance.
