“Maximizing the Operational Value of Traffic Camera Analytics Through Machine Learning and AI” – Ryan McBee
Southwest Research Institute will lead a deep dive into the technology behind camera analytics, focusing on how these systems harness machine learning and AI to optimize the utility of existing camera infrastructure. Leveraging years of investment in roadway cameras, these analytics platforms transform existing CCTV into dynamic tools capable of identifying vehicles, interpreting roadway environments, and delivering actionable insights in real time.

“Data Exchanges: A donut hole, or just a smaller donut?”– Mike Haas
This panel will discuss what data exchanges do well today—enabling interoperability, reducing duplication, and supporting innovation—while also exploring their future role in traffic management, predictive analytics, and connected vehicle ecosystems. At the same time, panelists will examine where exchanges are not well suited, such as ultra-low latency communications, sensitive or proprietary data, and contexts with unresolved governance or quality issues. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how data exchanges fit within the evolving TSMO landscape and how to strategically leverage them for maximum impact.
