SwRI will be exhibiting at the Society of Toxicologists (SOT) 66th Annual Meeting and ToxExpo, booth no. 1021.

Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) is a premier independent, nonprofit research and development organization. We are a leading CDMO that provides integrated R&D, development, and CGMP manufacturing services across small molecules, biologics, and medical devices, supported by advanced analytics and AI.

For small molecule development, we offer high throughput virtual screening, protein–ligand docking, structure /computer aided drug design, synthetic organic chemistry, process and method development, and scale up from lab to pilot scale, including total synthesis. Our FDA inspected CGMP facilities support API and drug product manufacturing with clean rooms, CGMP chromatography, high potency isolators, DEA controlled substance handling, ICH stability programs, and gram to kilogram API production for clinical trials, along with analytical services (forced degradation, reference standard qualification, stability, large scale purification) and multi formulation drug product capabilities (tablets/capsules, controlled release, implants, parenterals/injectables, inhalation, microencapsulation).

Beyond small molecules, we conduct R&D in regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, wound healing, stem cells, biosensors, nanotechnology, biomaterials, and 3D printing, and we operate perfusion based bioreactor platforms for cell expansion, CAR T and biologics manufacturing of antibodies, vaccines, nanoparticles, and biomaterials using automated, CGMP aligned processes. These activities are enabled by our AI/ML platform (including Rhodium™), which employs curated data, virtual libraries, and predictive models for bioactivity and toxicity to accelerate development and reduce risk across the product lifecycle.

SwRI offers multidisciplinary services leveraging advanced science and applied technologies. Since 1947, we have provided solutions for some of the world’s most challenging scientific and engineering problems.
