SwRI will be exhibiting at the SupplySide Global, booth no. 7379.

SwRI is a recognized leader in the field of microencapsulation and nanoencapsulation with more than 75 years of research and development experience ranging from proof-of-concept to production. SwRI has conducted thousands of different encapsulation, micronization, and particle engineering projects for numerous clients, spanning a wide variety of application areas, including health and nutrition applications. To further support the sponsored programs, SwRI also maintains an in-house program to investigate new encapsulation concepts and improve existing technologies. Institute personnel have experience with more than two dozen encapsulation processes, including atomization, spray coating, coextrusion, chemical emulsion-based methods, and nanoencapsulation techniques to produce capsules with sizes from tens of nanometers to several millimeters.

SwRI also provides pharmaceutical services, under ISO 9001:2015, ranging from early drug discovery through formulation and CGMP manufacturing for clinical trial support. Our formulation expertise includes micro- and nanoparticles, emulsions, suspensions, fibers, and films to optimize stability, bioavailability, dissolution rate, and to reduce toxicity. Our unique Rhodium™ small molecule/protein docking platform allows rapid binding site identification and in silico screening. We provide analog synthesis, lead selection, optimization, characterization, and scale-up services to include CGMP manufacturing of APIs and final dosage forms for clinical trials.   SwRI also offers services in the fields of biomanufacturing, regenerative medicine, cellular expansion and therapeutics, biosensors, additive manufacturing, 3D printing, and medical devices. Medical device research and development can be performed under an ISO 13485 and CGMP-compliant Quality Management System to produce devices and products suitable for pre-clinical and clinical trials and compliant with published FDA guidance.
