ATHENA™ Electronic Support Solutions

The Adaptive Threat Environment Acquisition (ATHENA) solutions are electronic warfare applications, featuring several channels with next-generation digital hardware. ATHENA achieves high instantaneous bandwidth (IBW), enabling continuous, full observation of the electromagnetic spectrum. Developed by Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), ATHENA is focused on electronic support, but it also enables electronic attack within the same hardware, decreasing size, weight and power (SWaP) of the overall system through its unique multi-functionality.

What is electronic support (ES)?

Electronic support is a tactical area of electronic warfare focused on receiving and analyzing enemy signals and real-time transmissions through the electromagnetic spectrum.

How does ATHENA support electronic warfare tactics and strategies?

ATHENA is an electronic support solution with robust capabilities across the electromagnetic spectrum. Part of SwRI’s larger suite of JUPITER Electromagnetic Systems Operations (EMSO) Services, ATHENA receives signals, providing situational awareness and other capabilities in the electromagnetic environment.
