Compressor skids are a critical component of a compressor package as they provide a rigid base for the engine, compressor and attached pulsation bottles. Skid designs are often based on a previous design and are modified to incorporate the system layout or available footprint. While this approach can be efficient and effective, certain design factors may be overlooked which can result in a flexible base. Additionally, the connection between the skid and soil below can drastically affect the vibration experienced on skid and prevent or exacerbate an existing resonance. This webinar will cover common skid design concerns and how different foundation types should be accounted for in the design process.
