Visitors can experience the process and learn the capabilities of a SwRI-developed guided wave inspection system for storage tanks, heat exchanger tubing, and pipeline structures. Our latest phased array, magnetostrictive-based, guided wave inspection system will be available for use on a storage tank bottom from outside the tank for high-resolution imaging of anomalies representing notches, wall thinning, and pinhole flaws. Guided-wave screening of heat exchanger tubing will be demonstrated on a 1’’ OD ferromagnetic tube with simulated anomalies under the tube support plate and in open span areas. Users can learn about this MsS v5m inspection systems as well as compatible guided wave sensors.
