Off-Road Test Facility Demo
This demonstration allows visitors to interactively drive a simulated vehicle through a virtual environment representing a portion of SwRI’s Off-Road Test Facility. Data from a lidar sensor on the vehicle feeds into an algorithm that detects terrain slopes in the vicinity of the vehicle. The magnitude of the slope is then represented on a costmap, which is an overhead image in the vicinity of the vehicle representing areas that are traversable (low cost) or potentially dangerous (high cost) for the vehicle, such as extreme slopes that might cause vehicle rollover.
Human Performance Demo
This demonstration showcases a custom markerless biomechanics motion capture system to track human pose and understand the kinematics of a subject. SwRI developed a custom neural network based algorithms to leverage camera streams that replace the need for traditional marker-based motion capture systems, while also allowing for more insight into underlying biomechanics.
