Probabilistic Mechanics

For over 30 years, Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) has developed and applied advanced probabilistic analysis software and methods to help clients understand non-deterministic variability and uncertainty effects on component and system performance.

In the field of probabilistic mechanics, SwRI has a proven record in estimating life for turbine engine components, predicting the properties of manufactured materials, and reducing variability in manufacturing processes such as composite lay-ups among many other applications. In addition, SwRI offers custom probabilistic solutions for uncertainty quantification, sensitivity analysis, and allocating resources for data collection that have been applied to multidisciplinary problems in many fields.
