For immediate release

San Antonio — March 18, 2015 — Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) was awarded the 2015 Seal of Distinction from the Alliance for Work-Life Progress today at the WorldatWork AWLP 2015 Future of Work Forum in Nashville. This marks SwRI’s second consecutive recognition from AWLP.

SwRI is one of five companies headquartered in Texas to be selected. This year’s 77 recipients include four companies with international headquarters. A variety of industries are represented including education, finance, government, health, law, and research and development.

AWLP has awarded the Work-Life Seal of Distinction since 2012. Applicants are evaluated in seven categories: caring for dependents, health and wellness, workplace flexibility, financial support for economic security, paid and unpaid time off, community involvement, and transforming organizational culture.

“We’re especially proud to win this honor for the second year in a row,” said Executive Vice President Walt Downing. “The organizational characteristics necessary to receive this recognition are part of the Institute’s culture.”

As a recipient, SwRI can use the Work-Life Seal of Distinction in all of its official communications throughout 2015. AWLP is part of WorldatWork, an association dedicated to advancing strategies and practices to attract, motivate, and retain employees.
