Free Webinar: Hydraulic Fracturing with Foams

Join us Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. (U.S. Central Time)

Host: Griffin Beck

Hydraulic fracturing techniques are used to increase oil and natural gas production in unconventional reservoirs. Often, hydraulic fracturing treatments consume large quantities of water to initiate the fracture and deliver proppant to the reservoir. A portion of this water is permanently lost to the reservoir. Though the other portion of water may be recovered, the recovered water must be treated or stored in underground injection wells.

One water saving alternative is to use foam as they primary hydraulic fracturing medium. In this webinar, the use of foams in oil and gas applications is reviewed and typical foam hydraulic fracturing techniques are identified. Benefits of foamed hydraulic fracturing fluids are described and their unique fluid properties are detailed. Research into the use of natural gas-based foams is also discussed in this webinar.
