Oil & Gas Machinery Lecture Series: Operational Flexibility
Lecture Series Overview
Gas compression equipment are critical to feeding the natural gas infrastructure of North America. This feeds into our natural gas driven power generation, a vital part of our current power grid. Looking forward, it is reasonable to expect more power generation from other sources including solar photovoltaic and wind. These sources are variable, thus driving variability into the supply portion of the power grid. Coupled with the existing variability of the demand side of our grid, operational flexibility will become increasingly important in future years. Therefore, the 2019 Oil & Gas Machinery Lecture Series will focus on the topic of Operational Flexibility. This will include end user perspectives on achieving flexibility as well as original equipment manufacturer's perspective on designing for flexibility. There will be discussions on equipment selection impacts, as well as possible technology transfer from recent developments within the sCO2 power cycle industry.
Presenters during this one day event will include oil and gas operators, equipment manufacturers, and government agencies.
