The invention relates to improvements in acoustic filters of the general type employed to dampened pulsations in flowing fluid streams such as those created by compressors, blowers, internal combustion engines, and the like. In one of its aspects, it relates to a method for reducing mechanical vibration in a fluid flow system subject to acoustic pulsations. In another aspect, it relates to another apparatus wherein an acoustical capacitance is connected to a plurality of acoustic pulsation generating devices in a manner as to suppress mechanical vibration.
